consistent retail marketing

Why Good Marketing Is All About Rhythm

August 16, 20261 min read

I’ve had a bit of a proud coach moment this week.

Inside Impact Club, several members have finally bitten the bullet and started writing their weekly emails.

And they’ve been good. Really good.

I can see the coaching coming through in their businesses.

They’re getting the idea of what I call the three stories - three things happening in your shop this week that give customers a reason to come in.

Three stories you can then use to shape the rest of your weekly marketing.

Because here’s the thing…

It’s not your customers’ job to remember you.

It’s your job to remind them you’re there.

But getting the first email out is only the start.

The next challenge is building the rhythm. Because if you want a consistent flow of customers coming through your door, you need consistent activity giving them reasons to come.

One email is great.

Four weeks in a row is even better.

But the real results come when it becomes as regular as the ticking of a clock.

Plan the three stories. Write the email. Send it. Repeat.

Week after week.

Because rhythmic customer acquisition is always preceded by rhythmic activity.

You can’t expect a consistent flow of customers from inconsistent marketing.

And yes, finding the time is difficult. I know how easily running the shop gets in the way of marketing the shop.

That’s one of the reasons Impact Retail Success Club exists.

Ideas, structure, coaching - and, importantly, someone holding you accountable to actually get the bloody thing done.

If you’ve been meaning to get more consistent with your marketing, we’ve got room for a couple more around the virtual table.

Have a great week.
