New BlogWhy Dan Sullivan Wants to Live to 156 - And What It Taught Me About Staying Young in Business Post

This week, I got to spend an afternoon in an ‘audience’ with one of my favourite business authors, Dan Sullivan.

Dan’s books, written with Dr Benjamin Hardy, have had an incredible influence on my successes over the past few years.

Every May, to celebrate his birthday, Dan comes to London, and while visiting, gives a talk to a small audience at The Berkeley Hotel.

This year he’ll be 81.

His goal is to live to 156.

It’s so he can live through a full calendar century.

That's the year 2000-2100, and he was born in 1944.

Will he do it?

He has lots of thought-provoking ideas on how he will achieve this, including advances in medical health science.

But what was really interesting was the research he’s done on those people who are currently living the longest.

I always say that ‘who you hang around with matters a lot’.

And Dan agrees.

But he went further.

Attitude and outlook appear to keep people youthful.

‘Always hang around with those whose futures are greater than their pasts’, said Dan.

Very insightful.

Right now, I don’t feel I ever want to ‘retire’.

I want to keep going.

I’m still excited about what lies ahead.

I want to keep on making my future greater than my past.

Dan’s message resonated with me.

Something to give some thought to, perhaps.

Have a great week.

Mark
