This week, “knowing your numbers” has been a recurring theme for me.
It featured in my mastermind group meeting, on a coaching call, and even in my own business.
When I returned from the States back in June, I brought with me a couple of simple tools.
A ‘Retail Sales Tracker’ and ' The Perfect Pairing' Tool.
They’re nothing fancy, just manual ways to track what’s selling.
But here’s the thing, they don’t just collect numbers.
They help build culture.
They show us what works.
They remind us that great selling is great customer service.
What was interesting, though, was that I thought I was on top of it.
Until someone casually suggested, “Have you thought about tracking the weather too?”
At first, I laughed.
Then I realised, they had a point.
In retail, everything can affect your sales.
The weather.
Events.
Paydays.
Stock levels.
Staffing.
The more you know, the better your decisions.
Think of your business like a car.
Your dashboard tells you your speed, fuel level, and warning lights.
Ignore it, and you’ll crash or break down.
Use it properly, and you get to where you want to go - faster, safer, and smoother.
What does your business dashboard look like?
Are you watching the right dials, or are you driving blind?
The numbers don’t lie.
But only if you’re looking.
Something to think about.
Have a great week.
