Think about your business for a moment.
Before the shop, the staff, the customers, the bills and everything else that came with it, there was a thought:
“Maybe I should open a shop.”
Everything in business starts as a thought.
And I believe the future evolution of your business rests, to a large extent, on the quality of thinking time you give yourself.
The trouble is, running a business doesn't leave much room for thinking.
There’s always another job to do, a customer who needs you, a member of staff with a question or a problem that needs sorting.
Which is why thinking time needs to be deliberate.
Find a quiet hour each week. No phone. No distractions. Just a notebook and the space to let your thoughts run.
Holidays can be brilliant for this too. When you're relaxed and away from the day-to-day, thoughts have a habit of becoming much clearer.
Some ideas will go nowhere.
Others will start to crystallise.
And occasionally, one thought can change the direction of your business.
So find some time this week to stop doing your business - and start thinking about where you want to take it next.
Have a great week.
