Here’s your next Tip of the Week - and it’s a classic example of how small visual details quietly influence customer behaviour.
This week’s focus is what I call the “Three Deep” display strategy.
Quite simply:
Never show just one of anything.
When customers see a single product on display, it often sends the wrong signal, even if unintentionally.
It can look like poor stock control, low demand, or something that’s already been picked over.
But when products are displayed three deep or more, something changes.
The display feels:
Fuller.
More confident.
More abundant.
And abundance builds trust.
Customers are far more likely to buy from a display that looks well-stocked and intentional than one that looks like an afterthought.
Here’s your quick win for this week:
Walk your shop and look for any products sitting on their own.
Wherever possible, add depth - even if it means fewer lines, better presented.
Often, it’s not about having more stock…
It’s about making what you already have look purposeful.
And as with so many things in retail, presentation quietly reinforces positioning.
If you want to be seen as premium, your displays need to look confident, not sparse.
Have a great week,
Mark
