Last week I was in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with my retail mastermind group, run by Bob & Susan Negen from WhizBang Retail.
Bob shared something with us that’s been stuck in my head ever since:
“Energy flows where attention goes.”
And he’s right.
Think about it.
If you’re focused on sales, your team will be too.
If you’re focused on standards and operational excellence, they’ll start tightening things up.
But if you keep swooping in and shitting all over the place (seagull management), with a new “urgent” priority every five minutes, then energy won’t flow.
Lots of noise.
Lots of mess.
And everyone ends up confused about what actually matters.
As the pace picks up heading into Q4, your job is to keep the focus where it counts.
Pick the thing that will really move the dial, whether that’s sales, waste, or team motivation, and stay on it.
Because your team’s energy follows yours.
If your attention’s scattered, so will theirs be.
So, where’s your attention going this quarter?
Have a great week.
