Great Selling is Great Customer Service

Creating a Sales Culture: The Tastiest Tool in Retail!

June 22, 20251 min read

This week in the Impact Retail Success Club, we tackled something that’s surprisingly overlooked.

Creating a sales culture.

I’m always genuinely surprised by how many retailers, not just in our group, underestimate just how vital this is.

Selling isn’t pushy.

It’s great customer service.

Your job is to help customers discover products they didn’t even know they needed.

And as food retailers, tastings are your secret weapon - the perfect chance to showcase your products and increase average spend.

But here’s the thing: it’s not just about giving people a taste.

It’s about what your team says in that moment.

Knowing how to frame the product.

Having the right words, stories, and facts at their fingertips.

That’s why I’ve introduced two new ‘Thinking Tools’ to members of the club - helping members not only change how their teams think about selling, but giving them the talking points that turn tasters into buyers.

Because success doesn’t come from what you know

It comes from what you do.

So, let’s stop hiding behind “I don’t want to be too salesy.”

Start showing up.

Start selling.

And your customers will thank you for it.

Have a great week.
